Travellers Choice is leading traditional trade down a new route of cooperation – one where bricks and mortar collaborate with online agencies – through a groundbreaking new partnership.

After years of going head-to-head, trying to outdo each other and prove one is more beneficial to travellers than the other, Travellers Choice has decided to take steps towards a more harmonious industry by working alongside NTIA’s ‘Best Online Travel Agency’, TripADeal.

Announced this week, the partnership is designed to benefit Travellers Choice, TripADeal and their clients by curating exclusive deals, offering agents commission and more.

Here’s a breakdown of how online and traditional will work together in this instance:

TripADeal will give consultants under the Travellers Choice umbrella access to a range of exclusive travel packages.

These packages will be promoted aggressively through national digital and print channels to attract potential buyers.

Travellers keen on booking a TripADeal offer will be given the choice to book and pay through any Travellers Choice store.

Consultants will then get in touch with holidaymakers, book their package AND they’ll receive commission for their assistance.

Additionally, TripADeal will develop bespoke packages to key destinations exclusively for sale through Travellers Choice members.

It’s a win, win.

The new arrangement will be piloted with a select group of members on 25 September 2017 and a group-wide launch will go live on 9 October 2017.

We expect to hear a little about the partnership’s progress during the group’s conference being held in Perth on 17 November.

The agency group’s Managing Director Christian Hunter acknowledged the arrangement as a “pioneering convergence of offline and online distribution channels”, which will allow both businesses to use their strengths to generate new business.

Christian Hunter, Travellers Choice Managing Director

“We are giving our members access to unique, highly-attractive products that cannot be booked elsewhere.

“And we are presenting yet another compelling reason for independent Travel Agents to join the Travellers Choice network.”

According to TripADeal’s Chief Executive, Norm Black, the partnership is something its clients have been requesting for some time.

“Some people want to take advantage of the attractive cost savings and inclusions our packages offer, but still prefer to book face-to-face through a traditional retailer.”

Norm Black, TripADeal Chief Executive

“For us Travellers Choice was a natural partner because it offers a strong and broadly-distributed national network of successful, independent travel Agents.

“In addition, the company has consistently adopted an innovative approach to technology and shown an unrivalled commitment to delivering outstanding customer experiences.”
