WE'RE ALL HUMAN: Travel Agent receives unnecessary criticism for human error

If that 2014 Beyonce, Solange and Jay-Z elevator video taught us one thing, it's that no matter how well-oiled the machine may be, we're all prone to errors and bound to mess up publicly at some point.

If that 2014 Beyonce, Solange and Jay-Z elevator video taught us one thing, it’s that no matter how well-oiled the machine may be, we’re all prone to errors and bound to mess up publicly at some point.

After all, we are only human.

You’re even more likely to make errors when you’re under pressure to close sales, make new sales, finish back-end paperwork AND set up marketing material.

That’s the kind of reassuring reminder an industry professional in Scotland needs right now after one of his/her errors went viral this week.

The unnamed Travel Agent had posted a series of deal signs for England’s Blackpool across the store front window, but used images of Spain’s Costa Brava instead, Express.co.uk reported.

It was clearly an accidental mix of the two destinations, because the mistake wasn’t picked up until a local took a photo and posted it to Twitter with the caption: “Travel agents… are at it. Is that pic supposed to be Blackpool? And I’m a Cheryl Cole lookalike as well then.”

It’s unclear whether the local advised the agency of the error before turning to social media, but the post attracted various comments from people who joked about seeing Blackpool in the background “if you really zoom in”.

The Daily Mail, which also ran the story, said it was unable to track down the Travel Agent responsible for posting the signs.
