Do you emoji? To celebrate World Emoji Day on July 17, the team at holiday website Wotif.com has released their tips on using emojis on holidays and reveal their emoji wish list.
Wotif Travel Specialist Kirsty La Bruniy said the rise of emojis has given travellers a fun way to describe their holiday adventures on social media and plenty of Wotif Facebook and Instagram followers are jumping on board the emoji language bandwagon.
“When you’re on holidays every second counts and emojis are a great time saver when it comes to updating your status and captioning holiday photos, it can make travel-bragging even more enjoyable,”

“Sometimes all it takes to describe a holiday moment is one emoji, like when you’re poolside with a cocktail, a photo with a cocktail emoji can say it all.
“With more than 700 emojis at hand to describe your holiday situation there’s a lot to choose from, whether your honeymooning or eating your weight in food on holiday.”
Ms La Bruniy said emojis have changed the way travellers communicate and can be a very useful global language when you find you can’t speak the local language or want to avoid pronunciation mishaps.
“In holiday situations when your French has escaped you and you’re looking for a bathroom, it could be as simple as flashing the ‘WC’ emoji.
“You never know when an emoji could come in useful with a new holiday romance if you’re trying to avoid getting lost in translation.”
