Holiday breaks for "Lucky" Bachelorettes

These ladies didn't manage to snare the Bachelor but after rumours surfacing about a certain doll-collection, the Bachelorettes may consider themselves lucky.

These ladies didn’t manage to snare the Bachelor but after rumours surfacing about a certain doll-collection, the Bachelorettes may consider themselves lucky.

TV screens have been broadcasting The Bachelor across the nation over the past couple of months and we’ve all been watching in anticipation as 30 beautiful Bachelorettes vied for Blake’s affections in the hope of scoring a rose and ultimately his heart.

However, after a former partner of Blake opened up to Woman’s Day about him living with his mother in a double bedroom featuring a charming vitrine, that displayed his extensive Cabbage Patch Kid doll collection, we’re starting to think the ladies may be thanking their lucky star for still being single.

In honour of their reigning single status, we’ve listed some top places for the Bachelorettes to let off some steam and find romance (minus doll collections and dirty street pies).

Sam – New Zealand

Having fallen head over heels for bachie Blake, poor Sam is now having to live out her break-up publicly. To escape all the media attention, AAT Kings recommends putting a smile back on Sam’s face by reuniting her with her one-true love – the great outdoors. There’s no other place quite like Queenstown, the adventure capital of the world. Sam can dust off her hiking boots and set out on the Hollyford Walk to reconnect with nature and clear her mind. Here she’ll spend her days boarding a jet boat for a scenic ride along Hollyford River, walking through ancient forests such as Rimu, Totara and Kahikatea and watching New Zealand’s Fur Seals play in the waters of Long Reef, before soaring high above the rugged coastline to Milford Sound. Here, Sam can enjoy the company of new friends with AAT Kings’ buddying her up in a shared room with someone of the same gender or giving her the option to upgrade to something more private.

Lisa – Italy

Lisa was left heartbroken last week after coming so close to calling Blake her own. Still eager to find her perfect match, Trafalgar invites Lisa to Italy were love is aplenty. The setting of many a romance, Lisa will fall head over heels in love with Italy’s stunning landscapes, vibrant culture and beautiful people which will make for a great distraction giving her time to get over Blake. From cruising around the serene celebrity hangout of Lake Garda and being serenaded to on a gondola in Venice, to discovering the balcony where star-crossed lovers once met in Verona and being charmed by an Italian Chef during a lively, authentic Italian cooking lesson – soon all thoughts of Blake will be gone! When travelling with Trafalgar, Lisa can also take advantage of exceptional singles deals and save between 50% – 100% on the standard single supplement offered across a selection of departures, on several 2015 Italian guided holidays.

Laurina Ireland

Princess Laurina may not have reigned supreme on the show but she’ll feel right at home at Ashford Castle in Ireland. The castle has a history spanning nearly 800 years and will be unveiling magnificent restorations in early 2015. Since operating as a luxury hotel has hosted guests ranging from King George V to John Lennon, Brad Pitt and Pierce Brosnan. Laurina will live like royalty while dining at George V Dining Room, being pampered at the five star spa or trying her hand at activities such as falconry.

Lauren – Europe

As a flight attendant Lauren is more than familiar with jet setting around the world so a high energy Contiki trip would be her perfect escape! Hitting all of Europe’s must see destinations and not missing a minute of fun along the way Lauren can spend her days checking out Buckingham Palace, shopping up a storm in Florence, soaking up the sunshine in the French Riviera or floating through the streets of Venice and nights sipping champagne under the Eiffel Tower, learning to Flamenco in Barcelona, playing James Bond in Monaco or dining out on pizza in Rome. Jessica – New York

The American Dream has seduced Jessica in the past, having danced and acted in the United States, so it might just be the perfect place to get her groove back. Creative Holidays recommends a trip to New York staying at stylish The Surrey. When not indulging in shopping therapy, Jessica can channel the ultimate single girls on a Sex and the City Hotspots Tour followed by High Tea at The Russian Tea Room where she can keep her eyes peeled for the actors, writers and politicians who frequent.

Zoe – Vanuatu

Blake wasn’t the only love of Zoe’s life. Having spent a year volunteering in Vanuatu, she was more often seen pining for the South Pacific, than The Bachelor himself. What better place to heal a broken heart than in the place it best belongs for Zoe. There’s nothing like a little R&R to get your groove back so soft adventure travel specialists Adventure World recommends an eight day Relax in Luxury package staying at the Havannah Resort in Port Vila. Set on the idyllic peninsula of Samoa Point, Zoe can kick back in her waterfront villa with the choice of ocean or plunge pool when the mood to take a dip strikes. The areas around Port Vila offer great water sports, island tours and horse riding to keep her mind well off matters of the heart.

Chantal – Eastern Europe

Well-travelled Chantal doesn’t strike us as the type who’s going to have a cry. Rather, she’d be the type to lick her wounds by jetting off to somewhere fabulous. A former design student, she has an appreciation for art, architecture and old world charm, making Eastern Europe the ideal holiday destination. Insight Vacations’ 9 day The Bohemian explores Vienna, Prague, Krakow and Budapest walking in the footsteps of Bohemian Kings and captivated by the spell of picturesque Cesky Krumlov.
