By KarryOn @karryontravel19 Sep 2017Mesmerising sunsets, tropical cocktails and infinity pools with ocean (and beautiful people) views – Bali is home to some of the most gorgeous bars in the world. Here’s our top five pick of Bali’s hottest beach and jungle bars. 1. POTATO HEAD BEACH CLUB – SEMINYAK Ahh the old favourite. More a Bali institution than a club, the entry to this hotspot, built from a quirky collection of mismatched window shutters salvaged from across Indonesia, is a novelty itself. Wend your way through this unique façade to uncover the beach club’s uber cool lawn, bars, restaurants and epic infinity pool with views out to the Indian Ocean. The massive pool offers a swim-up bar, perfect for ordering cocktails to enjoy while floating around and taking in the ‘sights’. Day beds border the pool and are a great place to hang out all day or catch the sunset. Waitstaff can bring your food and drinks to the bed so you don’t have to move from your prime sun baking position. The sunsets here are phenomenal and not to be missed. There are also regular concerts and dance parties with top DJ’s playing daily at the self proclaimed ‘Destination of good times’. 2. JUNGLE FISH – UBUD It’s time to go swimming in the jungle. Dubbed ‘the no beach beach club’, Jungle Fish is a stunning split level pool bar and restaurant within Ubud’s Chapung Se Bali Resort. Its location is spectacular, perched on the side of a ridge overlooking the Osh River Valley. It’s pure bliss floating in this 35 metre infinity pool with lush, green wilderness surrounding you. Book a cabana or a hanging bed and make a day of it. 3. ROCK BAR – JIMBARAN It doesn’t get much more impressive than this place. The minimalist, open air bar is built into a secluded rock face perched 14 metres above Jimbaran Bay. To access the bar, which forms part of Ayana Resort and Spa, you will need to take a funicular ride down to reach it. Soak up the spectacular wild ocean that surrounds you, then stay to watch one of the best sunsets you will experience in your lifetime with a delicious sundowner in hand. After dark the bar also has a great vibe with pumping music and candlelit tables. 4. THE LAWN – CANGGU Watch surfers carve up the waves at the famed Batu Bolong surf break from the comfort of The Lawn’s infinity pool, or order a drink from the water at the thatched-roof, swim-up bar. There’s also a luxe picnic setup on the palm tree studded lawn. Find a place under a sun umbrella on one of the straw mats and enjoy some cocktails or food from the grazing menu. You can also grab a sun lounge on the beach deck if you want to get even closer to the ocean. At sunset, move to the top deck to take in the expansive views of the island’s west coast from Uluwatu to Tanah Lot. 5. SUNDAY’S BEACH CLUB – ULUWATU This is the beach bar that promises to make every day feel as cruisy as Sunday. Which isn’t really hard when you consider the setting – a white sandy beach leading out to an azure lagoon. To access the club you’ll need to catch a cable car down from the connecting Ungasan Clifftop Resort. Make a day of it here by borrowing a kayak or stand up paddle board to explore the calm, clear waters. Great cocktails and tunes are all part of the package. A beach bonfire is lit daily at sunset. Grab a beanbag and toast some marshmallows. Been to beautiful Bali recently? Where’s your favourite bar? Other stories you may like Still deciding where to travel this Christmas?
