Rumoured to be the best hung over cure for party-goers everywhere, this vodka and tomato juice combo, also doubles as a nutritious breakfast.

The name “Bloody Mary” may be associated with Queen Mary I of England, who was nicknamed as such for attempting to re-establishing the Catholic Church and England, but when you reach for this drink, you’ve probably done some sinning the night before.

There are numerous variations to the recipe, but don’t worry, we found you the easiest one. You probably won’t be in a good state next time you fix one.

Origin Story

The Bloody Mary enjoys dubious origins, and like any good story – we have to take it with a grain of salt, there’s three conflicting claims as to who invented this famous breakfast/hangover cure cocktail.

There are three contenders to the inventor of the drink, Fernand Petiot claims he invented it in 1921 whilst working at Paris’ New York Bar, a frequent hangout for the like of Hemingway and other American expats. The other two contenders are Henry Zbikiewicz, a bartender from New York’s 21 Club around the 1930’s or comedian George Jessel who frequented the same club.

Whoever invented The Bloody Mary, those who like to party owes them a huge thank you.
