Get a taste of Italy at Uma Cucina in Ubud, Bali

Italian food might not be what initially springs to mind when visiting Ubud in Bali however, chances are you’ll struggle to resist a visit to Uma Cucina once you get a whiff of their wood-fired pizzas when passing by.

The Italian inspired restaurant and lounge bar, UMA Cucina, located on street level before entering COMO Uma Ubud is an informal and relaxed diner.

With two spacious outdoor terraces and one large communal dining table in the middle of the dining room, surrounded by smaller tables, the restaurant offers an airy, rustic and homely feel.

Wood fired pizzas are just the top of this delicious Italian culinary iceberg, with a mouthwatering menu created by Australian-born Executive Chef Nicolas Lazzaroni making the restaurant popular among COMO guests as well as non-hotel guests.

The creative menu takes advantage of local and fresh ingredients including seasonal vegetables, seafood and meats.

Especially popular among Australian and European visitors, guests can enjoy handmade pastas, cheeses, sausages and allegedly the best wood fire pizzas in Ubud (!) as well as classic Italian gelatos and granitas.

According to the helpful and friendly staff the most popular dishes on the menu, apart form the wood fired pizzas, are Burrata, Arancini and Fritto Misto.

This is a lovely place to meet people, experience great Italian food all in a nice atmosphere

Every Saturday the restaurant is hosting  jazz evenings, where guests can enjoy live music between 19.30- 21.30 whilst having their dinner.

On Sundays Uma Cucina is serving up their popular ‘cook to order’ brunch between 11.30-15.30.

The brunch menu includes a range of easygoing classics including freshly-thrown pizzas straight from the oven, fish and seafood from the chargrill, antipasti and a selection of great wines and cocktails.

Guests will also enjoy free parking and an optional valet service on the day.

Prices for the Cucina Sunday brunch starts at  399,000 IDR per person.

Shared plates from 85,000- 120,000 IDR

First plats from 75,000 -180,000 IDR

Main plates from 180,000 – 350,000 IDR

Side orders all 55,000 IDR

Opening Hours

Lunch: 12pm – 6.30pm

Dinner: 6.30pm – 10.30pm
