The countdown to knock-off starts early this week with the Sydney Cellar Door transforming Hyde Park into a wonderland of wine, food and entertainment this weekend, as part of The NSW Food and Wine Festival.

Kicking off at 4pm on Friday, 27 February, Sydney Cellar Door brings winemakers from all over NSW to create a microcosm of the State’s diverse wine regions. Take a tour through 10 regions of NSW to taste, explore and chat with the producers firsthand. Start in Mudgee at its urban vineyard bar, featuring 14 wine stalls, wander over to the Hunter Valley for a sumptuous chardonnay or pop next door for a finessed cool-climate shiraz from Orange.

Entertainment is also on the menu with a host of great home-grown artists performing on the Music Stage throughout the three day event including Duo Logic featuring Melinda Jackson and The Shufflers with Rob Edwards. Up for a challenge? Wander over to the Games Lawn with friends and a glass of wine to have a go at croquet, boules or chess.

Alongside the State’s best wineries will be some of our best restaurants, growers and artisans bringing NSW’s best produce to life. Returning once again in a frenzy of Brylcreem and tattoos will be the crew from Porteno and Bodega serving up a menu of modern Latin street food, and festival favourites Salt Meats Cheese will be serving up a delicious selection of, you guessed it, meat and cheese.

Cellar Door first-timers include Let’s Do Yum Cha, Rosebery’s own Clubhouse Bar and Restaurant and oysters from Ralston Brothers. And in very exciting news, Sydney’s favourite burger joint Mary’s will be flipping their famous burgers all weekend.

More of a DIY eater? Then pick up all the makings of the perfect park picnic from the Producers’ Picnic Tent with treats including The Little Hopper coffee (Little Marionette coffee), Pukara Estate olive oil, Rivareno Gelato and award-winning smoked fish from Brilliant Foods.

Fairfax Events Creative Director of Food Myffy Rigby says Sydney Cellar Door is full of great activities to see out the final weekend of summer.

“There’s not only wine but also a fantastic selection of food from some of our best restaurants. To add to the atmosphere there’ll be live music and a games lawn. What else could you possibly need?”

Managing Director, Customer Franchise, Citi Australia Linda Duncombe said: “Citi is excited to see the ever-popular Sydney Cellar Door return to Hyde Park, and we are looking forward to working with our Citibank Dining Program partner winery, Mount Pleasant, to deliver exclusive benefits to Citi customers throughout the festival.”
