WATCH: In Da Hostel with 50 Cent – a spoof on MTV's Cribs

50 Cent in the hostel! The celebrity rapper (who's been a little quiet of late; perhaps he's been backpacking around Europe?) is currently starring in a funky new ad for Hostelworld.

50 Cent in the hostel! The celebrity rapper (who’s been a little quiet of late; perhaps he’s been backpacking around Europe?) is currently starring in a funky new ad for Hostelworld.

Born Curtis James Jackson III, 50 Cent appears in a parody of MTV Cribs – a show where the rich and famous show a camera around their lavish mansions.

But instead of taking us around his own crib, he’s been recruited to highlight the trappings of a funky hostel in Barcelona, which offers travellers “All the bling without the sting.”

Check out the video below, where Fiddy goes from “In Da Club” to “In Da Hostel.”

The fact that Fiddy’s now starring in an advert for budget travellers certainly isn’t very surprising at all, given that the poor guy filed for bankruptcy last year.

Yep, he probably should’ve cut back on his expenses (he spent around $72,000 each month just on the upkeep of his mansion).

The 2:28 minute ad takes us on a tour through the hostel, showcasing 50 Cent’s epic chess and table hockey skillz along the way before taking us to the rooms “where all the magic happens.”

The advert ends with the rapper imploring us to “get out there and meet the world,” which we couldn’t agree more with!

According to Hostelworld’s chief marketing officer, Otto Rosenberger, the hostel booking website is delighted to have 50 Cent onboard.

“We are so happy to have converted 50 Cent into a hosteller—he’s found the best way to live like a millionaire without having to part with crazy amounts of money in the process.”

The entertaining video (well, kinda cringe worthy at times) isn’t the first time Hostelworld has used celebrity appeal to promote its wares.

Last year Chris Eubank became the face of the hostel booking website with a hilarious advert that follows the British former professional boxer around Britain as he learns more about youth hostels.

Originally a joke from the comedy show I’m Alan Partridge, the spoof advert was a huge hit online.

It’s hoped that 50 Cent’s ad will be the same.

*Check out this story on the craziest Skype call ever, where Roger, an Irishman backpacking around Australia, calls his parents whilst skydiving 14,000 feet above Sydney! The stunt was made possible by Hostelworld.

What do you think of Hostelworld’s new advert?
