1. Macao Dragon Boat Festival

Ready? Steady? Go! Visit Macao in June and you’ll be able to witness an awesome display of both local and foreign teams competing in a dragon boat race on the Nam Van Lake. It’s just like rowing in the Olympics, only way more colourful! Don’t forget to pack your camera.

 

2. Macao Lotus Flower Festival

Is there no finer flower out there than the lotus? Every summer (in June) the most beautiful lotus species found throughout China are showcased to the world at the Taipa Houses-Museum and even on many streets, inside parks and popular sightseeing locations in Macao. Suffice to say: this is one sweet smelling festival!

Say what? A competition to see which country can put on the better fireworks display? Count. Me. In! Each year in December hundreds of talented performances from all around the world take part in the festivities. And you’re invited too.

Taking place in December, the Macao Light Festival will turn Macao into a canvas of the imagination, illuminating the city in a dazzling display of lights, colours, and even 3D architectural projection mapping technology. 10. Macao Karting Grand Prix

Yep, this is actually a thing! The Macao Karting Grand Prix in December sees more than 140 world-class top karters to Macao in the pursuit of taking out the top spot. It may not be THE Grand Prix, but it’s just as competitive and just as entertaining!
