It’s good news for passengers flying to Bali with AirAsia resuming flights to the destination today.
On the other hand, Aussies are still stranded in Australia, with both Virgin Australia and Jetstar cancelling all services for today.
While Denpasar Airport will reopen its doors today at 14:30 (GMT +8), the Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre says conditions are still unsafe for travel.
To compensate, Virgin Australia is offering free destination changes to passengers wishing to postpone Bali travel.
To be eligible, guests must have been booked to travel between Tuesday 3 November to Wednesday 11 November (inclusive) and must not have commenced their travel.
The offer is available on 12 destinations including Port Vila, Nadi, Apia, Phuket, Cairns, Darwin, Broome, Hamilton Island, Whitsunday Coast, Gold Coast, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.
Guests can change their booking to a different destination for travel up to 30 days from the original travel date.
Affected passengers are advised to call the Virgin Australia Guest Contact Centre on 07 3119 7019 (from Australia), 00 1803 061 2002 (from Indonesia) or +61 7 3119 7019 from other international locations.
Meanwhile, AirAsia flights from Bali have resumed following the wake of the Mt. Rinjani volcanic ash cloud.
AirAsia guests are advised to check their flight itinerary through the “Manage My Booking” feature on the budget carrier’s website for their updated flight status.
Guests are also advised to stay tuned to AirAsia’s social media channels for up-to-date information. Contact AirAsia’s Australian call center on +61 2 8188 2133 (9 a.m. – 6 p.m. GMT+10) for further information.
