Passengers travelling to Canada from Australia can now take advantage of Air Canada’s new doubled baggage allowance.

The increased checked baggage allowance of two 23kg bags applies to Economy Class passengers travelling to/from Australia and any of Air Canada’s destinations across Canada and the United States – including the daily, non-stop B777 service between Sydney and Vancouver.

The new baggage policy will apply to tickets issued on or after 4 November 2015 for travel from 17 December 2015.

According to Paul McLean, Air Canada General Manager Australia and New Zealand, doubling the baggage allowance for Aussie passengers means they’ll be able to pack everything they need for the trip, helping them relax and focus on having an unforgettable time exploring North America.

“Australian travellers are exploring more of Canada than ever before, and at the same time many are taking advantage of Air Canada’s extensive North American network to create trips that combine Canadian and US destinations.”

This news compliments earlier announcements made by the airline that Air Canada will begin operating direct flights between Brisbane and Vancouver from June 2016. The new service, operated by the airline’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, will be timed to optimize connectivity to and from Air Canada’s extensive North American network, which includes more than 60 cities in Canada and 52 destinations in the US.

Exciting times await!
