Things are still up in the air – literally – with the ash cloud situation in Bali. Unfortunately conditions are yet to improve.
Late yesterday evening both Virgin Australia and Jetstar’s team of senior pilots and experts announced the possibility of resumed services today and tomorrow as conditions around Denpasar airport begin to improve. Unfortunately, the latest update is that conditions are still too bad to continue normal operations.
As a result, both airlines have cancelled a number of their flights and guests are advised to check their emails and phones for the latest flight status updates.
But it certainly isn’t all bad news for some – it depends on how you look at it. Being stuck in Bali of all places isn’t such a bad thing. And a number of guests are taking full advantage of their extended time away in the lush tropical island.
Virgin Australia and Jetstar have both offered free flight changes to affected passengers who would like to fly to alternative destinations. Conditions apply and guests should contact their airline for the most current options.
