It’s that time of year when you pull out the Chrissy tree, pile on the decorations, and set Spotify to Xmas carols. The festive season is upon us, and travel agencies in Australia are getting their cheer on.
If you haven’t yet had a chance to Christmas-fy your store, here’s a little inspiration for you from across the country.
Stodarts Travel & Cruise, Kalgoorlie (WA)
Located 600 kilometres east of Perth in the Goldfields-Esperance region, Stodarts Travel & Cruise in Kalgoorlie, WA is Australia’s oldest continually operating agency. Having first opened its doors in 1895, the agency just recently celebrated its 120th anniversary.
The agency is also celebrating Christmas in style this year with their festive window displays and in store promotions. According to Sue Fessey, Managing Director, the team love getting into the spirit of things:
“We have members of our community walking past our shop who really enjoy stopping to view our display, and at Christmas time it is even more fun for the kids. They love seeing our life-sized Santa, loads of presents and the Christmas tree in the window – it looks really exciting at night when the spot lights come on too.”

The store is also offering customers the chance to win a Christmas hamper and esky worth $500!
Lismore Cruise and Travel
The folks over at Lismore Cruise and Travel are doing something a little different this year by sending their office mascots overseas this festive season.
Mini Max (a miniature version of our office cat Max) and his pal Millie (the more youthful one with the backpack, which was bestowed upon the store by a client who thought Mini Max needed a friend) recently won an Avalon Christmas themed river cruise for two departing on 21 December.
The lucky buggers will travel to Lapland with 50 Degrees North, where they will go dog sledding, reindeer sleighing, horse riding in the snow and sleeping in igloos!
They have even set up their own Facebook page so that fans can follow their travels!
Mini Max and Millie are off to their first English pub. And what a great pub, complete with roaring log fire and twinkling Christmas lights.

Other travel agents are celebrating the festive outside the office and on a cruise ship – the Pacific Eden to be exact.
A group of 25 PTMs and one NPO representative spent the night together on board the MS Pacific Eden to celebrate Christmas.
