Don’t let your clients “do” London like everyone else – send them on their way to exploring a different side of this great city, and use Qantas to get them there.
As one of the most-visited cities in the world, London’s tourist offerings are well-known.
There’s Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square… They’re all definitely worth checking out, but make sure you set aside time to experience some of London’s quirkier attractions – and trust us, there are plenty of them.
Qantas operates services into London from Sydney and Melbourne via Dubai with the award winning A380 aircraft.
But before you go, read up on our recommendations on where to stay, where to eat, and what to do whilst in London to experience a different side of the city.
Stay at the Qbic Hotel

A little different? Yup. Well positioned? You betcha. Memorable? No doubt about it. Located in the trendy Shoreditch area of London, the Qbic is a hotel with personality and offers guests a unique and fun experience right in the heart of East London, just a stone’s throw from some of the city’s best street food, art galleries, boutiques, creative businesses and nightlife.
Comfortable, different, edgy – this is Qbic’s main philosophy, and boy does it deliver. With different room types to suit different kinds of travellers and their personalities (for example, the ‘Fun’ room, the ‘Smart’ room, and the ‘Cosy’ room), the Qbic Hotel in London is definitely a unique experience.
Dine at Bunga Bunga

Sip on a cocktail – served in a little Fiat or Colosseum – or choose from the impressive selection of Italian beers and wines whilst you demolish a serving or cured meats, bruschetta and pizza, of course, and get a taste of Italy – literally – at Bunga Bunga, a quirky pizzeria and Italian-themed bar.
From posters of Silvio Berlusconi, Roman busts, and all sorts of colourful memorabilia adorning the walls, to the barmen dressed as gondoliers, the Bunga Bunga is a tongue-in-cheek bar that pays homage to the playful side of Italy. It’s certainly a little different.
Go on a quirky London walking tour

Discover London’s weird and quirky side on a two-hour walking tour and learn about the city’s rather bizarre history. Lead by a local insider, the entertaining tour will educate you on the oddities of London, of which there are many. Did you know that a dolphin – yes, a dolphin – was dissected in a London cafe? And did you know that there’s a church in the city that was built backwards?
Sites visited in the tour include the Royal Opera House, Waterloo Bridge, Savoy Hotel and Trafalgar Square, as well as London’s smallest police station. Warning: you won’t think about London in the same way ever again.
Visit Mr Fogg’s Residence and go around the world in 80 cocktails

Step inside the doors at 15 Bruton Lane in Mayfair, and you may just think you’ve stepped inside a museum dedicated to some Victorian explorer. But in fact, what you’d be stepping into is the imaginary home of the fictional character Mr. Phileas Fogg – the chief protagonist in Jules Verne’s 1873 novel Around the World in Eighty Days.
Decorated with all his imaginary souvenirs, including hunting rifles, stuffed animals, weathered flags and maps, it’s the extensive, 80-strong cocktail list inspired by Fogg’s gallivanting around the globe that really steals the show. Rum-based The Navigator and gin-based Jungle Sling come highly recommended by the man himself.
Listen to classical music in Handel’s former home

The Handel House Museum in Mayfair isn’t just a museum dedicated to the German-born Baroque composer, George Frideric Handel. It’s also an active concert space, where classical music aficionados can be treated to a live performance of some of the late composer’s greatest hits – in the very home of the composer himself.
How’s that for a bit different? Handel, who moved into the building in 1712 and stayed until his death in 1759, wrote most of his masterpieces here, and interestingly, some 200 years later, another famous musician took up residence next door: the one and only Jimi Hendrix.
