Eh, mamacitas and papis get your culos and cerebros ready because the first ever Latin America Travel Week is coming to Australia.
¿Cómo?
Due to fast-growing demand in Australia for holidays to South and Central America, the Australian Travel Association for Latin America (ATALA) has decided to give agents and consumers easy and direct access to information about the region by hosting the week-long event.
Shake it abuela!
Running from 15-22 May, the Latin America Travel Week will feature free consumer expos as well as travel agent workshops in Sydney and Melbourne.
It’s the second major Latin America push in Australia this year and follows LATAM’s recent sponsorship of the Sydney Spectrum Festival.
There’ll be free drinks and canapes at the agent events (¡claro!) PLUS one lucky agent at each event will win a luxury US$12,000 holiday to Peru or Chile including flights.
Oh yeah, wiggle like the Puerto Rican Princess.
In addition to the freebies, agents will have access to a range of airlines, hotels, cruise lines, tour and travel operators from over 20 countries in South and Central America.
ATALA Chairman, Ted Dziadkiewicz, said there’s been a sizeable increase in awareness for Latin America amongst Aussies thanks to growing interest and extra air capacity.
“There’s so much to see and do that we’ve gathered all the wonderful countries of Latin America and the multitude of life-changing experiences available in them and are showcasing them to the public and travel industry over seven days.”
Ted Dziadkiewicz, ATALA Chairman
“Australian agents keen to learn about an increasingly popular and fast-developing travel region are invited to attend our workshops and public expos during Latin America Travel Week.”
The agent workshops in Sydney will be held from 6-8pm at The Ivy Ballroom on Wednesday, 18 May 2016, and the Melbourne workshop for agents will be held from 6-8pm at the Intercontinental Hotel on Thursday, 19 May 2016.

A B2B networking session will also be held for travel expo exhibitors and ATALA members in Sydney on May 17 and Melbourne on May 20.
The free expos will feature presentations, live Latin America music and displays of Latin dancing. Special offers and discounts will be available on the day and there will also be major holidays to be won, including an Antarctic cruise with One Ocean.
