We can't believe it's been a year since the last New Caledonia Rendez-vous

Time moves fast indeed, even on island time, and we're excited about heading back to this stunning South Pacific destination for the 2016 Rendez-vous.

Time moves fast indeed, even on island time, and we’re excited about heading back to this stunning South Pacific destination for the 2016 Rendez-vous.

It’s only a short flight from our shores, blessed with gorgeous nature, populated by warm and friendly locals, and befitting for travellers keen on either relaxing under the sun or getting their dose of adrenaline.

Yep, we’re talking about New Caledonia here, and it really does have it all.

Scattered throughout the warm, turquoise waters of the South Pacific, the French territory is an intoxicating mix of culture, nature and adventure.

It’s also an absolute breeze to sell.

Which you’ll learn at the upcoming Rendez-vous workshop that will kick off on Friday 27 May this year in Nouméa.

Participants being welcomed at Rendez-vous 2015.

And judging by the success of the last one – which was the first one ever – it promises to be even BIGGER and better than ever before!

Just check out this video of last year’s event:

Hosted by New Caledonia Tourism and sponsored by Aircalin, this year’s Rendez-vous is the perfect opportunity to learn about this stunning island nation in the heart of the South Pacific.

It will also give trade the chance to expand their product portfolio through new commercial partnerships and meet with a range of quality suppliers over a glass of wine and sumptuous meal.

Kind of like what happened at the inaugural Rendez-vous last year.

Just in case you don’t know, New Caledonia is renowned for its food: from its French-inspired cuisine, to mouth-watering macarons, éclairs and chocolates, to fresh crab and lobster, New Caledonia is pretty much a foodies’ dream

But of course, nothing beats a famil to really get to know a destination and discover new areas of New Caledonia.

Which is why participants at Rendez-vous 2016 will have the chance to join some pretty epic pre and post workshop famils, exploring the island’s rich culture music and cuisine.

For example, how about exploring the crystal clear lagoon waters of New Caledonia and some of the whitest and softest sand you’ll ever see?

Or how about hiking the Niaouli Savannah and the great plains of the West coast, trekking across the mountain ranges and primary forest, or meeting real-life New Caledonian cowboys on a guided horseback tour?

Or perhaps diving in the ecological hotspot that is New Caledonia?

To say we’re excited about this year’s Rendez-vous would be an understatement indeed!

Oh, and just in case you don’t know, New Caledonia may feel like a world away, but it’s only a short hop, skip and a jump away from our shores: a 2-hour flight from Brisbane, 2.5-hours from Sydney and just under 4-hours from Melbourne.
