Oooooooo Air New Zealand just served its Tasman rival, Qantas, with a challenge… the running man challenge.
‘Out of the air Quan, let’s take this to the dance floor.’
No, that’s not a direct quote from the Kiwi carrier but it’s how we imagine the team delivering the dare in a fierce teen dance movie.
The challenge to take their competition beyond the skies was issued late last week, when Air New Zealand cabin crew filmed themselves taking part in the #RunningManChallenge – an Internet fad, which sees company employees filming their creative rendition of the ‘running man’ while Ghost Town DJ’s ‘My Boo’ plays in the background.
Proving there’s no shortage of talent at Air New Zealand, the carrier’s cabin crew used their fun, (almost) slick dance skills to record their own 29 second clip.
The video opens with female flights attendants serving coffee and tea to three other members of the team posing as guests. Crew then push the cart through the aircraft, drop a couple of paper cups and break out into a little dance.
Kettles, carts and even serving trays were used as props during the dance and one especially talented member of the team helped close the video with a quick human worm.
Sharing the clip on Facebook, Air New Zealand used the hashtag before asking ‘Who’s next?’ (*coughs* Qantas).
We’ll just have to wait and see if the Flying Kangaroo accepts the challenge.
This isn’t the first time Qantas and Air New Zealand have taken their rivalry out of the air. Last last year, Qantas lost a Twitter wager to Air New Zealand over which national team would win the Rugby World Cup.
