Book an Intrepid trip & earn Qantas loyalty points

The Intrepid Group has teamed up with Qantas Frequent Flyer to give the airline's loyalty members 2,500 reasons to book the tour operator's adventures.

The Intrepid Group has teamed up with Qantas Frequent Flyer to give the airline’s loyalty members 2,500 reasons to book the tour operator’s adventures.

Intrepid and Peregrine are the latest additions to the Flying Kangaroo’s loyalty program and are offering frequent flyers the chance to earn around 2,500 on Intrepid Travel bookings or 3,500 on Peregrine Adventures trips that cost $1,000 or more.

These points are in addition to the points earned when frequent flyers pay with their Qantas Points earning credit card and bookings with Qantas or its partner airlines.

That’s a whole lot of points – you’d be well on your way to booking a free one-way domestic flight.

Intrepid Group’s Regional Director, Peter Rawley, described the arrangement as a “beautiful friendship” that will satisfy the 60 percent of Qantas Frequent Flyers that classify themselves as adventure travellers.

“We know that there are a lot of Qantas Frequent Flyers like us who want to spend their hard-earned money on experiences, not things.”

“This new partnership offers them the anecdote to their post-travel blues, as they can actually earn points for their next trip while they travel on an Intrepid or Peregrine trip.”

Qantas Loyalty CEO Lesley Grant, added that the airline knows its members love to travel and the new partnership will reward those “adventurous spirits who like to get off the beaten track”.

“Our members already have the opportunity to travel the world with Qantas and our partner airlines and now they’ll be able to enjoy an even more rewarding travel experience when they take a tour with Intrepid or Peregrine,” Grant said.

Meanwhile, Intrepid’s day tour operator, Urban Adventures, hit a milestone this week when it aded its 150th destination – Dili and Dhaka.

The new tours in Timor-Leste and Bangladesh are particularly significant for the company as they highlight the opportunity for Urban Adventures to provide economic development opportunities through the company’s innovative partnership model, which is regarded as an early iteration of what’s now known as the sharing economy.
