The folks over at Lonely Planet have finally revealed their Best in Travel 2017 destinations for next year, and the world is eagerly reading through the “winners” and making their holiday plans accordingly.
And here at KarryOn, we ain’t no different!
The highly anticipated selections were announced last night, and already the industry has responded, with Air New Zealand slashing prices on flights to New Zealand’s Taranaki region (which placed second in the top region category), and the State Government of South Australia throwing an epic Block Party in Adelaide’s West End after South Australia came in as number five in the same category.
Over in the USA, Los Angeles was ranked third in the top cities around the world, whilst hipster-friendly Portland came in at number ten.

Los Angeles is currently in the midst of a hotel renaissance, with tons of new hotels (over 30!) opening up in the City of Angeles in the next few years.
Nearby in Canada, the Canucks are out in force celebrating en masse after the country was named top country in 2017. Woo!
