Oops! Passenger forgets his clothes & checks into flight wearing only speedos!

A last-minute oversight has left a man without a change of clothes, forcing him to check into his South African Airways flight in Malawi wearing nothing but his speedos and a pair of flip flops.

A last-minute oversight has left a man without a change of clothes, forcing him to check into his South African Airways flight in Malawi wearing nothing but his speedos and a pair of flip flops.

Talk about travelling light!

Greig Bannatyne is a pretty good dude.  He regularly takes part in events to raise money for charity, and he’s an all round nice guy. But he IS a forgetful chap, and recently his forgetfulness put him in a pretty revealing situation…

In town with some mates (collectively called the Mad Swimmers) to take part in a charity swim across Lake Malawi to raise money for children’s charities and orphanages, Greg forgot to pack an extra change of clothes with him to change into post race.

“Somehow I didn’t get this memo and everyone else had made sure they had a top and shorts to throw on for the six hour boat trip back.”

Greig Bannatyne, speaking to MailOnline.

He realised this when the bus came to pick him and the rest of his team up from their hotel and take them to the airport to catch their South African Airways flight back home to Johannesburg.

But instead of his mates lending him some clothes to change into, they dared him to fly home wearing only his speedos!

Ah, what are mates for, right?!

Apparently, travellers waiting to check into their own flights at Malawi Airport were very distracted when Greg rocked up in his revealing speedos. I mean, it’s definitely not every day you see something like that…

But, was old mate Greg actually allowed to pass through security and board his flight dressed like that?

Nuh-uh.

He was able to make it through two defensive lines of security wearing nothing but bathers, after explaining it was for charity.

But he wasn’t able to make it pass passport control before being requested to dress before boarding the plane.

“They were very friendly and we went to a room where they were trying to understand what I was doing. Unfortunately as we didn’t have any official papers validating this they requested that I put my top and shorts on.”

Greig Bannatyne, speaking to MailOnline.

But want to know the best bit from this story? Because Greg manned up to the dare, he ended up raising an extra $3,400 for the charity he was in town to support!

Well done Greg, well done!
