So we know travel addiction exists, however, we don’t know where the dependency on exploration originates. It’s easy to assume it’s a psychological disorder but maybe it’s actually caused by genetics.
Scoot Airlines believes that’s the case, which is why the carrier has commissioned a world-renowned Genetics, Human Biology and Neuroscience expert to determine if travel is embedded in our blood.
Mhmm, an actual expert is working on this, and that’s him below.
The industry-first experiment called the ‘Wandermust Experiment’ will see Dr. Richard Paul Ebstein of the National University of Singapore study Scoot employees and holidaymakers for ‘Wandermust’ aka an innate human need – and not just want – to travel.
First step of the experiment requires Scoot to locate a few travel addicted people who want to know the cause of their dependency. That’s where YOU come in.
Scoot is recruiting volunteers to be part of the test to determine whether travel is in their blood AND go in the running to feed the existing addiction with the chance to 100,000 KrisFlyer miles.
Scoot’s Chief Executive, Lee Lik Hsin, said the goal is to use science to prove travel is a necessity to humans and gain “deeper insights into the preferences and habits of” customers.
“This partnership with Dr. Ebstein also reinforces our commitment to continuously empower consumers so they can fully embrace their Wandermust.”
