Emirates is finally putting a little space between its Economy and Business Class passengers by introducing a Premium Economy cabin on its aircraft from 2020.
The Dubai-based carrier’s six new A380s scheduled for delivery in 2020 will be among the first to fly with the new product, which President Tim Clark hopes will attract more high-spending flyers.
In an online podcast, Clark said the seats would be “special” for passengers because they’ll be “an Emirates Premium Economy”.
He didn’t elaborate further on what guests can expect in the new Class, however, if other Premium Economy products are anything to go by, it’ll likely have its own zone, be quieter and more spacious.
“We know exactly what we are going to do, where we are going to place these seats… which zones and how we are going to design the product.”
Tim Clark, Emirates President
We’ll just have to wait patiently for more updates.
In the meantime, Emirates announced an update to its First and Business Class offerings last month, which included new wellness kits, noise cancelling headphones and premium amenities.
