Virgin Australia is taking off on a new route in the new year. The airline confirmed plans to launch non-stop services between Darwin and Bali during the peak season.
Creating competition on the route and marking its first international service out of Darwin, the new will take off in April 2019 and run three times weekly until October.
Virgin Australia will join Jetstar on the route, which has been the only carrier flying between Darwin and Bali since AirAsia pulled out in December 2017, The ABC reported.

Unsurprisingly, the Northern Territory’s leaders are excited by Virgin Australia’s entry, saying that it will benefit both Aussie travellers and the Top End.
“People that are in Bali that can extend their European holiday to the Top End but also there is a large expat market in Bali that we think would love to escape two-and-a-half hours away and come to Kakadu and the Top End.”

The Aussie carrier will operate its Boeing 737-800 aircraft on the service.
