Some roller coasters are designed to make you scream, others are built for a temporary thrill, & then there’s Florida’s newest ride that was created to make visitors roar.
Busch Gardens, an African-themed animal theme park located in Tampa Bay, opened its ninth coaster last month, and not only is it the tallest in Florida, but the wildest as it’s designed to mimic a tiger.
Sounds ferocious!
The 1,800-feet triple-launch steel roller coaster called ‘Tigris’ is described as an “exhilarating” ride featuring looping twists, forward and backward motion as well as several drops.
Riders will screech as the coaster completes its 150-foot skyward surge and reaches a top speed of more than 60 miles (96.5km) per hour.
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Adventure Island’s President, Stewart Clark, said Tigris was the “perfect addition” to the park and expects it will satisfy the millions of thrill seekers who visit every year.
“Tigris is the perfect addition to our unrivaled collection of adrenaline-pumping attractions.”

As the ninth coaster at the park, Tigris joins the existing Cheetah Hunt, Busch Gardens’ longest coaster, SheiKra, a 200-foot tall floorless dive coaster, Falcon’s Fury, a 335-foot freestanding drop tower and more.
