After months of cancelled cruises, One Ocean Expeditions has revealed, via a letter for customers and Agents seeking refunds, that it is entering administration.
“Those who wish to may attempt to seek a refund of monies paid to One Ocean Expeditions,” it said.
“This will occur through a business administration process overseen by a court-appointed trustee”.
“Alternatively, as OOE will soon enter a formal restructuring process (business administration) under the Canadian legal system, you may be able to seek refunds through the cancellation terms of your travel insurance policy.”
“We sincerely regret the impact events of the past weeks have had on you and your travel plans.”

The Antarctica specialist explained that the seizure of Akademik Ioffe and Akademik Sergey Vavilov would affect upcoming sailings for the 2019/20 peak season.
Several booking cancellations followed.
One Ocean Expeditions Managing Director Andrew Prossin originally said he was attempting to restructure the business.
Meanwhile, Hurtigruten stepped in to offer “a compassionate fare” to passengers affected by the cancellations.
But when it came to recent rumours that Hurtigruten would be partnering with One Ocean Expeditions – Hurtigruten made it clear that was not happening.
“We fully understand the stress the One Ocean Expeditions cancellations causes both agents and travellers,” Hurtigruten commented.
“As a courtesy given the difficult situation, Hurtigruten has decided to offer guests who have been impacted by OOE cancellations the opportunity to book a Hurtigruten expedition cruise under “compassionate rates” on selected itineraries.”
We will update you as more information on the administration process comes to hand.
