TravelManagers’ Market Days ring in Christmas, connection and collaboration

TravelManagers has just concluded its five-city run of Market Day workshops, hosting more than 50 partner suppliers and 175 personal travel managers (PTMs) and culminating with a Christmas celebration in each city.

TravelManagers has just concluded its five-city run of Market Day workshops, hosting more than 50 partner suppliers and 175 personal travel managers (PTMs) and culminating with a Christmas celebration in each city.

The Market Day workshops took place in Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney with a four-hour business session followed by a sit-down Christmas celebration, while Adelaide enjoyed a more informal, personalised format.

The workshops provided an opportunity for PTMs to catch up on new products and updates, post-COVID enhancements and future joint marketing opportunities.

TravelManagers Executive General Manager Michael Gazal said: “Each Market Day presented a great opportunity to bring people together in person after two years of maintaining relationships mostly online and via email or phone.”

He said TravelManagers’ National Partnership Office team worked tirelessly throughout the last two years to facilitate a variety of COVID-safe and digital events that would ensure PTMs were well placed for the recovery of the international travel market.

“These took place in multiple formats throughout Australia and were extremely well-received by attendees. However, I think they would all agree that there is no substitute for the face-to-face interaction delivered by the Market Days,” Mr Gazal said.

Forging a new partnership with Signature Travel Network this year, he said the presence of a Signature Travel Network booth at the Market Days, showcasing Signature’s luxury product opportunities, was significant.

From a supplier perspective, Mr Gazal said feedback on the Market Days has been equally positive.

“The close relationships TravelManagers enjoys with its key supplier partners have been integral to its success throughout the pandemic.”

“Maintaining these relationships through events such as the Market Days will be key to TravelManagers’ success in what promises to be an exciting year for the brand and our PTMs in 2023.”
