At a whopping 113,561 tonnes and accommodating up to 3,080 guests, the Crown Princess will soon call Australia home. And it sails into Sydney in October 2024.
The Crown Princess will be the largest cruise ship ever to be based year-round in Australia. And it will offer itineraries that include Princess Cruises’ longest world cruise to sail roundtrip from Oz. That’s an epic 113-night global odyssey!
Big ship energy Down Under
The Crown Princess will be joining her regal (and similarly endowed) sisters the Royal Princess and the Diamond Princess. And together they will offer 117 departures from two to 113 days between October 2024 to September 2025.
Princess Cruises’ new 2024-25 program will see the ships sail from seven different ports for the first time. That’s Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Fremantle (for Perth), Hobart and Auckland.
And before you think Crown Princess is getting all the glory… It will be the maiden Brisbane season of the 2670-guest Diamond Princess. This will be the largest Princess ship ever to be based in the Queensland capital.
Princess Cruises President, John Padgett said the decision to base such a large ship here was to meet the demand of our cruise-loving populace.
“Thanks to Crown Princess’ generous size, we’ll be able to carry over 50 per cent more guests,” Padgett said.
“The ship’s size also means more accommodation choice with an expanded range of entry level staterooms as well as 30 per cent more balcony cabins,” he said.
Setting sail
Crown Princess’ world voyage will visit 49 ports across 28 countries. These will include Barcelona, Mallorca, Lofoten Islands, Tromso, Isafjordur, Reykjavik, Qaqortoq, Casablanca, and Pisco. Journeys will depart from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Fremantle.
On sale from 5 April, Princess Cruises’ new program will feature voyages visiting 66 different destinations, including late stays in 13 ports such as Victoria’s Phillip Island.
