Air New Zealand PSA: Don’t let your clients’ COVID credits fly away!

If your clients have Air New Zealand travel credits issued before 30 September 2022, now is the time to cash them in before they expire on 31 January 2024.

If your clients have Air New Zealand travel credits issued before 30 September 2022, now is the time to cash them in before they expire on 31 January 2024.

Air New Zealand’s C19 flexibility policy saw its pandemic-era travel credits extended several times since 2020, however those credits are now due to expire at the end of January 2024 and the carrier wants you to get the word out.

Around 500,000 customers had Air NZ travel credits when the final extension to 31 January 2024 was announced last year.

For credits received before 1 October 2022, clients need to redeem them by 31 January 2024 and complete their travel by 31 December 2024.

For travel credits issued after 1 October 2022, clients need to redeem them within 12 months of the original date of departure.

For refund requests, review the Air New Zealand refund policy. Take action on any refunds before the credit expiry date or use them partially or in full.

A refund may be available on unused credits for certain criteria. This includes if it was specified in the original fare rules, local legislation requires a refund, the original destination is now a ceased route (i.e. Norfolk Island or Buenos Aires) or the request falls under Air NZ’s COVID-19 compassionate policy.

To make it easier to communicate with your clients, Air NZ has a range of downloadable creative assets available via duo for use across online, email and social channels.
