Hawaiian Airlines unveils free Starlink wi-fi on Sydney-Honolulu flights

Hawaiian Airlines has completed the rollout of Starlink’s high-speed, low-latency wi-fi across its fleet of 24 Airbus A330 aircraft, offering the service free of charge on flights between the islands and the continental US, Asia and Oceania.

Hawaiian Airlines has completed the rollout of Starlink’s high-speed, low-latency wi-fi across its fleet of 24 Airbus A330 aircraft, offering the service free of charge on flights between the islands and the continental US, Asia and Oceania.

For Aussies, that means fast and free wi-fi on all of Hawaiian’s non-stop Sydney-Honolulu flights.

Now, Hawai’i-bound passengers can connect as soon as they board, enjoying fast internet suitable for work, streaming and gaming. They can continue to enjoy the service when connecting to mainland North American flights.

As the first major US carrier to introduce Starlink in February this year on its A321neo, Hawaiian Airlines’ new wi-fi offers seamless connectivity, even over the Pacific.

“Becoming the first major airline to offer travellers Starlink at no cost is a remarkable achievement for our team, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the overwhelmingly positive response from guests who have been enjoying our industry-leading connectivity onboard,” Hawaiian Airlines Director of inflight entertainment, connectivity and onboard products Evan Nomura said.

While Starlink will be installed on its Boeing 787-9s, the service won’t be available on the 717s used for its inter-island flights.
