When Norwegian Aqua made its debut, Danielle Galloway – Global Managing Director, Luxury and Independent Brands at Flight Centre Travel Group – was among the first to see what Norwegian Cruise Line’s latest vessel had to offer. Her verdict? More space, more sophistication, and a ship that’s truly designed for modern cruising.
From standout dining to secluded luxury in The Haven, Galloway shares her first impressions of Norwegian Aqua – and the onboard experience she believes agents should be talking about.
What was your first thought when you stepped onboard?
Norwegian Aqua felt immediately spacious and sophisticated. The carefully considered design takes full advantage of the slightly larger ship footprint. There was a natural flow from one area to another, creating a sense of openness and elegance.

What really wowed you?
The Haven! NCL has brilliantly crafted this section to blend seamlessly with the rest of the ship creating an exclusive, yet integrated, experience. The dedicated bar, restaurant and pool deck were always buzzing, but never too busy. The Haven delivers a premium and private environment, without making guests feel isolated from the vibrant energy of the main ship. Truly the best of both worlds.
Favourite restaurant/eatery?
I saved the best for last and dined at Cagney’s on my final night on board Norwegian Aqua. The steakhouse was a standout across the ship’s many specialty restaurants with an elevated menu featuring quality steak and exceptional seafood, not to mention the extensive wine list. While Cagney’s is my pick, there is something for everyone’s tastes from Italian, to Teppanyaki, Mexican and in a first for NCL, plant-based restaurant Planterie and a Thai eatery Sukhothai.

How was your cabin – any standout features or comforts?
My room in The Haven was perfect — a true sanctuary at sea. It offered a generous and elegant layout with a stunning private balcony with breathtaking, unobstructed ocean views and a luxurious spa on the balcony. The bed was plush with high-quality linens, and the room’s furnishings were modern, stylish, and exceptionally comfortable. The bathroom was like a spa retreat itself, with premium finishes, a walk-in shower, and an oversized bathtub that added an extra touch of indulgence. Every detail, from the perfectly placed amenities to the impeccable service, made my suite the ultimate blend of luxury and comfort.

What’s one word you’d use to describe Norwegian Aqua?
