Forget the cold—two airlines have just launched back-to-back fare sales aimed at Aussie travellers looking to trade winter for the warmth of the Pacific, Asia and North America.
Fiji Airways has launched a three-week sale on international flights for Australian customers, with discounts of up to 30% and fares starting from $265 one-way to Fiji. Not to be outdone, Hawaiian Airlines has unveiled a Lei Day flash fare from Sydney to Honolulu from $921 return, as the carrier marks 21 years of service to Australia.
Both sales are now live.
Fiji Airways’ winter escape deals
Fiji Airways’ sale applies to flights departing from six Australian cities – Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Canberra and Cairns – with connections to Fiji, the US, Canada, Japan, Tonga and Samoa. The fares are valid for selected travel dates between 24 May 2025 and 30 April 2026.
Highlights of the sale include:
- Fiji from $265 one-way (Lite) / $589 return (Lite)
- US from $600 one-way (Value) / $1,199 return (Value)
- Canada from $750 one-way (Value) / $1,499 return (Value)
- Japan from $515 one-way (Value) / $999 return (Value)
- Samoa from $405 one-way (Lite) / $779 return (Lite)
- Tonga from $379 one-way (Lite) / $719 return (Lite)
Children’s fares start from $165 one-way to Fiji, $415 one-way to the US, and $229 one-way to Tonga.

All Value fares include 30kg of checked baggage, onboard meals and entertainment. Lite fares include 7kg carry-on only.
Fiji Airways operates 40 weekly flights from Australia to Fiji and connects onwards to a range of international destinations via Nadi.
The sale ends 22 May 2025, with limited seats available. Flights can be booked through the Fiji Airways website, call centre or via travel agents.
Hawaiian Airlines marks Lei Day and 21 years in Australia
Coinciding with Lei Day celebrations in Hawai‘i and its 21st anniversary flying to Australia, Hawaiian Airlines has released its lowest return fare between Sydney and Honolulu at $921* for Main Cabin seats.
The sale runs until 21 May 2025 for travel from 10 May 2025 through to 31 March 2026.
The all-inclusive fare includes:
- 23kg of checked luggage
- 11kg carry-on
- Complimentary meals, drinks and inflight entertainment
- Access to Hawaiian-inspired snacks and cocktails
- Complimentary high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi on board
Flights depart Sydney five times weekly on Hawaiian’s Airbus A330s and arrive in Honolulu mid-morning, allowing passengers to maximise their time on the islands.
The airline also released discounted neighbour island fares, with return flights from Honolulu to Maui, Hawai‘i Island or Kaua‘i from $135*.
As a member of the Alaska Air Group, Hawaiian Airlines now connects Australian travellers to over 140 destinations across North America and Latin America via Alaska Airlines’ network. Members of both airlines’ loyalty programs can earn, redeem and transfer miles between carriers, with Hawaiian also set to join the oneworld Alliance in 2026.
