More Bali: Airline doubles its Aussie Denpasar flights from next month

Less than three months after commencing its first service to Australia, Indonesian carrier TransNusa Airlines has announced it will double flights between Perth and Bali (Denpasar) next month.

Less than three months after commencing its first service to Australia, Indonesian carrier TransNusa Airlines has announced it will double flights between Perth and Bali (Denpasar) next month.

TransNusa currently operates a daily Western Australia-Bali service. But the carrier will add another four weekly flights from 2 July and then grow this to a second daily service from 18 July 2025, offering Aussie travellers even more choice for a Bali getaway.

Tickets for the new service, which will operate with a 174-seater A320 aircraft, are available now.

“We will increase the frequency of flight in two phases. First phase will see TransNusa’s scheduled flights increasing from seven times weekly to 11 times weekly. The additional four flights will be scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday,” TransNusa Group CEO Datuk Bernard Francis said, also confirming the second phase’s rollout on 18 July.

The new daily service (flight 8B082) will depart Bali at 12.55pm, arriving in Perth at 4.55pm. The return flight (8B 083) leaves Perth at 6.05pm, landing in Bali at 9.50pm. These are in addition to the existing daily flights (8B080/081), which depart Bali at 9.05am and Perth at 1.55pm.

The announcement comes just weeks after TransNusa revealed it would rebrand as a “premium” full-service model for international and domestic operations.

“The move to enhance our customer comfort is part of our plan to grow TransNusa as a secure and caring brand in line with our premium service carrier status,” Datuk Francis added.

Beyond Bali

In addition to its WA service, TransNusa operates direct flights to China (Guangzhou), with a maximum layover time of two hours in Denpasar for those looking to travel beyond the Indonesian island.

“For West Australians looking for a more adventurous vacation, they can spend some time in Bali and jet across to Guangzhou to experience places such as Gulong Gorge skywalk glass bridge,” Francis said.

For international routes, TransNusa offers three fare bundles – Seat, Seat-Plus and Flexi-Pro – including 20kg of free checked baggage and flexible options like refunds and unlimited flight changes (for Seat-Plus and Flexi-Pro).

One-way fares on the PER-DPS route start from AU$156.

“For the highest package, Flexi-Pro, we provide more complete services such as free baggage 30kgs, free to choose seats, free food and drinks, priority at check-in and boarding,” Francis said.

“We are committed to providing affordable and competitive ticket prices, while still providing premium services to our customers.”

It’d be fair to say Bali is booming right now among Aussie holidaymakers (even more than usual). The most recent boost to Bali travel is a new Newcastle-Denpasar service announced this week by Jetstar.
