On a recent visit to Australia, Minor Hotels Group Director of Public Relations and Communications Mark Thomson revealed the hotel group is launching four new brands, including two new luxury hotel collections.
Thomson says the new brands include luxury collections, The Wolseley Hotels (renowned for operating some of London’s most well-known restaurants) and Minor Reserve Collection.
In addition, Colbert Collection will be added to its premium collection, and iStay Hotels under the select brand.
The two new luxury collections bring to five the number of high-end brands Minor now has in the market, including Anantara Hotels & Resorts, Elewana Collection and Tivoli Hotels & Resorts.
Eyes on Asia

Thomson says Minor’s focus is on Asia, with three of its new brands to launch in Japan.
“Minor Hotels is balancing its global footprint by expanding into high-growth markets with high-growth brands, with nearly 300 new properties slated to open by the end of 2027.
“We are using our expansion to balance our geographic mix, reducing Europe and increasing Asia and the Middle East, India and North Asia (predominantly Japan) are priority markets.
“North America is also a priority region for expansion, as currently we only have one NH Collection property in New York City.”
Safari camps high priority

Thomson says another area of growth is tented camps, such as Anantara Kafue River Tented Camp, Anantara’s first tented camp, which will open in 2026.
“Tented camps are an area in which we see growth potential – unique, once-in-a-lifetime experiences that today’s luxury travellers desire.“
Anantara Kafue will have 12 tents, including a 600-square-metre Presidential Villa – each will have private plunge pools and exclusive boat access.
Nestled between two islands, the camp has a wellness area with a swimming pool, restaurant and bar, a lounge and a traditional African boma.
At the end of last year, Minor made its debut in Zimbabwe with the opening of 16-suite property, Anantara Stanley & Livingstone Victoria Falls Hotel, near Victoria Falls.
The boutique retreat on the edge of Victoria Falls was Anantara’s seventh in Africa.
