Visit California has a brand-new, agent-friendly resource to inspire self-drive journeys across the Golden State for the Northern Hemisphere summer plus insider tips to help your clients fast-track their entry at LAX and SFO.
The 2025 California Road Trips guide is now available to order and the first-of-its-kind edition features influencers, experts and celebs sharing firsthand experiences of the Golden State’s dream self-drives.
The new guide builds on Visit California’s latest ‘Playful Journeys’ road trips campaign and features nine self-drive routes, including accessible attractions, luxury travel tips and national park highlights.

Cover star, actor and longtime Los Angeles resident Kristen Bell shared her fave family self-drive destinations and experiences in the 2025 California Road Trips guide, such as camping in El Capitan State Beach outside Santa Barbara, off-roading in Glamis, hiking in LA’s Griffith Park and rejuvenating in Calistoga.
“California is what you make of it. We have an RV that we drive around every summer. Now we are California-getting-on-the-road people,” she said.
Fast-track US entry is easy as MPC

And to get your clients there, Visit California tips the free Mobile Passport Control (MPC) app as the easiest way to kickstart a California road trip and fast-track US entry at the state’s main gateways of Los Angeles Airport (LAX) and San Francisco International Airport (SFO).
The MPC app is an official U.S. Customs & Border Protection tool that allows ESTA travellers to fast-track immigration processing at major ports.
Travellers can set up their profile before departing Australia, and upon landing, simply submit their arrival information and proceed to the designated MPC line.

Travel Associates Victoria Point agent and Visit California Agent Advisory Council member Cola Maurirere, who recently returned from a Southern California fam, said: “I’ve used MPC on my last three US trips. The process is so simple and I’ve never waited more than 15 minutes at immigration.”

Despite recent media attention around US border procedures, industry leaders say travellers and advisors should not be deterred from travelling Stateside.
Australian Travel Industry Association (ATIA) CEO Dean Long said: “While the new U.S. administration is taking a closer look at international arrivals, the underlying procedures for Australian visitors remain unchanged. The rules are clear and the process is straightforward for those who are prepared.”
