Widespread flooding devastated Outback Queensland earlier this year, leaving communities reeling and tourism at a standstill. Now, Helloworld Travel, VIVA Holidays and the Outback Queensland Tourism Association (OQTA) have teamed up to turn things around, one booking at a time.
Running until 17 July 2025, the joint campaign gives agents access to curated, commissionable Outback Queensland packages, offering travellers bonus inclusions, exclusive savings and uniquely Australian experiences across the region.
What the Outback Queensland campaign offers
Running until 17 July 2025, the campaign features a broad range of exclusive travel deals curated by VIVA Holidays. Designed to promote travel to Outback Queensland, the product line-up includes packages such as Outback Summer Stay, Unleash Longreach, Best of Longreach Getaway and an Outback Self Drive option.
The campaign also includes more boutique product aimed at higher-end domestic travellers, such as a Glamping Getaway to Winton and Longreach. This includes stays in luxury air-conditioned safari tents with ensuites and private decks, plus a sunset cruise on the Thompson River and a private firepit experience under the stars.

These offers are available for agents to book now via VIVA Holidays, with bonus add-ons and savings available throughout the campaign period.
Why the campaign matters
Flooding earlier this year heavily impacted tourism operators and infrastructure across Outback Queensland. The campaign aims to assist with the area’s economic recovery by increasing tourism activity during the key winter travel window.
According to the partners, the campaign is not only about short-term visitation but also long-term destination awareness. Print and digital marketing are being rolled out across key domestic markets, supported by a downloadable trade marketing toolkit via the VIVA Holidays portal.

What the partners say
Outback Queensland Tourism Association CEO Denise Brown said the partnership would raise the profile of the region across retail and media channels while supporting direct bookings.
“OQTA is thrilled to partner with Helloworld Travel and VIVA Holidays, making it easier than ever for agents and travellers to book and explore Outback Queensland,” Brown said.
She added that the region offers unforgettable experiences, and through curated packages and strong pricing, the campaign aims to increase visitation and extend length of stay. The partnership also intends to build lasting awareness of Outback Queensland as a must-visit destination among Australian travellers.

“We have a strong partnership with Outback Queensland, the region has so much to offer, and we are very pleased to be able to support this campaign and promote tourism back to the region,” Helloworld Travel Group General Manager Marketing Melissa Warren said.
