Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has named Cindy Gilbert as its new Senior Manager, Marketing and Public Relations for Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.
Based in Sydney, Gilbert will oversee consumer marketing and media strategies across these markets, reporting to HKTB Regional Director Karen Macmillan. She replaces Jess Rowden, who returns to Ireland after nearly eight years with the board.
Gilbert brings deep travel industry experience, having held senior marketing roles at Emirates, Royal Caribbean and CAPA – Centre for Aviation.

According to HKTB, the new appointment signals the region’s continued focus on promoting Hong Kong as a leading leisure travel destination.
“As an avid traveller, Hong Kong represents the best of all things travel – food, culture, events, style, and the great outdoors,” Gilbert says.

“With its fascinating duality – East meets West, old meets new, chic meets street, city meets nature – there’s always something new to explore.
“I look forward to bringing my expertise to Hong Kong Tourism Board to build on the destination’s growth and appeal in this region, with a 33% year-on-year increase from Australian visitors and 35% from New Zealand in the first half of 2025.”
