Vintage Rail Journeys’ 2026 season is now on sale, offering three all-inclusive heritage rail travel itineraries in regional New South Wales on a restored ex-Southern Aurora passenger sleeper train.
Part of Journey Beyond, Vintage Rail Journeys’ three distinct rail experiences for 2026 are all-inclusive of breakfast, lunch, dinner and all beverages, including beer, wine and spirits, as well as Off Train Experiences.
Operating from February to April, the five-day Riverina Rail Tour allows travellers to explore the flavours of regional NSW, including Off Train Experiences from licorice-making in Junee and olive oil tastings at Morella Grove to regional museum visits and a historic Zig Zag Railway ride.

The all-inclusive five-day Golden West Rail Tour, running from August to November, includes travel along rarely accessed rail lines across the Liverpool Plains plus the Capertee Valley, Hunter Region, Orange, Bathurst and Mudgee. Featured Off Train Experiences include a Hawkesbury River scenic lunch cruise, a Hunter Valley wine experience and Bathurst’s Abercrombie House.

Operating from May to July, the five-day North Coast Rail Tour features travel through the Hawkesbury region and Off Train Experiences – from the Slim Dusty Centre in Kempsey to Maitland and Byron Bay’s cultural, scenic and historical sights.

Journey Beyond’s Vintage Rail Journeys General Manager Alberto Isaza said: “Unique to our experience, the train travels by day and remains stationary overnight, allowing guests to fully embrace the benefits of slow travel.”

“The decor in your cabin is straight out of the 1960s and you’ll experience a warm welcome and outstanding service from your hospitality attendants. Each trip is a chance to embrace the charm of the past and make new memories against the backdrop of our beautifully restored Southern Aurora.”
