Qantas Frequent Flyer members have a new way to climb the status ladder, and it doesn’t involve a single flight.
For the first time at this scale, Qantas is offering up to 110 bonus status credits on the ground. The limited-time promotion links credits directly to Qantas Points earned across eight categories, including banking, insurance, shopping, fuel, travel and entertainment.
The offer is designed to help members fast-track annual status levels and build lifetime balances before the year wraps up.
Silver status requires 300 status credits, while gold is achieved at 700. For members sitting just shy of these milestones, the new option could make all the difference.

To take part, members must register by 31 October and earn Qantas Points across eligible categories before 31 December 2025.
The scale works like this… 20 status credits are awarded for every 1,000 Qantas Points earned in cards and banking, utilities and services, and insurance categories. The remaining five categories – hotels and travel, fuel and car hire, food and wine, retail and shopping, and entertainment and leisure – award 10 status credits for the same amount of points.
Qantas Loyalty CEO Andrew Glance described it as the biggest on-the-ground status credit initiative yet.
“While flying will always be at the core of the program, this offer is about expanding the ways we recognise our members both in the air and on the ground,” he said.

“Whether members are using their points-earning credit card, shopping with favourite retailers or booking a hotel stay, this offer now makes those everyday activities even more rewarding.
“Members are already earning two-thirds of their Qantas Points on the ground, and we expect this will be particularly appealing to our ‘frequent buyers’ who might not fly as often but are very engaged with the program and our hundreds of partners.”
The initiative follows recent measures including Double Status Credit promotions and a loyalty bonus gifted to all active members last month.
