Qantas has confirmed the appointment of Sarah Burkitt as its new Head of SME Sales, with the role to commence in early 2026.
Reporting to Executive Manager of Global Sales and Distribution Kathryn Robertson, Burkitt will lead the airline’s small-to-medium business strategy through partnerships and Qantas Business Rewards.
A Qantas veteran of 11 years, Burkitt steps into the position previously held by Renee Brooks. She brings more than 14 years of aviation industry experience, including leadership roles spanning airline partnerships, sales and distribution, and digital and direct.
Most recently, she headed customer recovery and disruption management, overseeing advocacy and recovery strategy during a pivotal operational period.

“We are delighted to have Sarah returning to the sales and distribution team in this important role for our business,” Ms Robertson said.
“Sarah brings deep understanding of customer needs, combined with strong commercial experience and knowledge of our business from her time across multiple functions.

“Her customer-centric leadership approach and proven track record in managing complex commercial and operational challenges will be valuable as we continue to grow our presence in the SME market.”
Earlier this year, Qantas added Alexandra O’Connor as its new Head of Sales Channels, in a newly created role that brought agency sales and operational support under one umbrella.
