Helloworld Travel has expanded its retail footprint, confirming it will acquire a 40 per cent stake in one of the group’s most successful network members, Victorian agency Brighton Travelworld.
Led by Managing Director Julie Avery and Director Keiran Cromie, the high-profile business has been operating from Church Street in Brighton for over five decades.
The Melbourne business has been part of the Magellan network for eight years.

Helloworld says the investment reinforces its commitment to key retail partners and secures Brighton Travelworld’s future within the Magellan and broader Helloworld Travel network as demand for premium advice continues to grow.
“Julie, Kieran and the team have been among our most successful network members with many years of history with the company, with Magellan for eight years and with Travelscene Amex before that,” Helloworld Travel CEO and Managing Director Andrew Burnes AO said.
“We are delighted to solidify the ongoing successful partnership between Brighton Travelworld and Helloworld Travel.”

On the move, Avery said, “This investment is terrific recognition of the hard work and dedication that has gone into building our store over the many years”.
“Brighton Travelworld has been with the Magellan network in its current and previous guises for many years, and to take this next step is a demonstration of our strong partnership and commitment,”she remarked.
“We’re excited about the opportunities this partnership brings and look forward to continuing to deliver exceptional travel experiences for many years to come.”
In 2024, Brighton Travelworld turned 55, making history as the longest-standing agency in Australia to have remained in the same location.
Karryon Unpacks: Helloworld’s move signals something bigger: confidence in brick-and-mortar agencies that consistently deliver. Brighton Travelworld has history, loyal clients and a reputation that’s earned, not inherited – and that matters in a market where trust drives conversions. For agents, this deal is a reminder that strong local brands still hold serious value. For Helloworld, it’s a strategic bet on stability, experience and long-term partnership.
