Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has returned to Western Australia, marking its 2025-26 Australia and New Zealand season with two firsts, including the cruise company’s debut in Fremantle and Norwegian Spirit’s inaugural visit to the state.
The ship docked in WA for the first time on 9 December 2025 for a short 14-hour stay, shoring up the cruise company’s commitment to the state and local cruising.
After Fremantle, the ship will continue to Busselton and Albany, which are also maiden visits.
She will then sail along the coastline with calls to Adelaide, Kangaroo Island, Eden and Burnie, plus an overnight stay in Melbourne.
The ship’s first Australian sailing this season concludes in Sydney on 21 December 2025.

Spirit is the cruise line’s most adult-friendly ship with a premium, curated offering for over-18s, minus the kids clubs and waterslides, for a more sophisticated way to cruise at sea.
From December 2025 to April 2026, the ship will embark on 10 open-jaw itineraries, ranging from 11 to 13 days, between Sydney and Auckland.
Following her Australia-New Zealand season, she will then reposition to the South Pacific, sailing on 11- to 13-day itineraries from Sydney; Lautoka, Fiji; Honolulu, Hawai’i or Papeete, Tahiti.

Norwegian Cruise Line APAC Managing Director & Vice President Ben Angell said: “We’re thrilled to visit Fremantle for the very first time and our guests are just as excited to explore this beautiful port and the other incredible destinations we’ll visit across Western Australia.”
“But our commitment goes far beyond one state – [this] arrival isn’t just a first for our brand, it’s a vote of confidence in Australia’s cruise future.
“Norwegian Cruise Line is stepping forward, supporting regional ports right across the country to deliver unforgettable experiences and inject real value into the visitor economy – now and into the future,” he said.
