Pearl Expeditions has announced the appointment of Julie Golding as Head of Commercial and Product Marketing, signalling the luxury line’s transition into a dynamic new phase of commercial and brand development.
Reporting to general manager and head of sustainability Mick Fogg, Golding will oversee the commercial sales and customer service team while collaborating with marketing & PR agency GTI Tourism and sales representation agency La Collection.
According to Pearl Expeditions, the newly created leadership role reflects a strategic shift as the operator ramps up its brand visibility and commercial presence ahead of future sailings in Australia’s Kimberley, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and Borneo.
Where do you know Julie from?
Golding joins Pearl Expeditions with more than 20 years of experience in the luxury travel and cruising space, having previously held senior roles with Rocky Mountaineer, Silversea and Ponant.
Executive Chair Sarina Bratton AM said Golding will help build on the commercial foundations established by Nicci Foulsham and Jo Schuetz, who currently lead Pearl’s expedition concierge and partnerships functions.
“Julie has a strong background in key account management within the Australasian travel industry, keen commercial acumen and a successful history of identifying and creating trade and consumer marketing opportunities,” Bratton said.
“She’ll ensure the unique experiences that have been expertly crafted by Pearl Expeditions are well articulated to our partners and consumer audiences.”
Bratton also noted that Golding’s appointment marks “a significant milestone” for the company as it transitions into full commercial operations.
Golding described her new role as a timely opportunity to build meaningful momentum for the brand.
“Pearl Expeditions is entering an exciting new phase of growth, and I’m thrilled to contribute to strengthening our commercial presence and expanding our product and partnership opportunities.
“A heartfelt thank you to the team for the warm welcome, I’m truly excited to be part of the Pearl Expeditions family.”
What does this mean for the wider travel industry?
