At Helloworld Frontliners Conference in Fiji, Christos Niaros from Helloworld Travel Oakleigh was recognised in the Achievement Awards, which celebrate exceptional sales performance and customer commitment across the network.
When Christos’ name was called, the recognition brought him to tears, and those around him soon followed. For a travel advisor who has quietly dedicated nearly 30 years to his craft, the moment was a powerful reminder of why recognition matters. Like so many in the travel industry, Christos would have continued doing what he loves without the spotlight. But being seen and celebrated for it meant everything.
“It’s definitely something very important to me,” he told Karryon.
Cecilia Barr, Owner and Manager of Helloworld Travel Oakleigh, said the recognition could not be more deserved.
“For me, it’s his energy. He builds a rapport with his customers and earns their trust almost immediately. His approach is both fun, yet professional.”
She added that Christos’ commitment is unwavering.

“He works really hard. He puts in a lot of effort and is always willing to discuss different options with customers.
“It’s never an inconvenience. He consistently strives to secure the most suitable scenario, whether the customer is new to the office, or one of his many repeat clients.”
Reflecting on the award, Cecilia said it was deeply meaningful to her and her team.
“It’s such a thrill. I felt so emotional when I realised he was going to get the award. So much so, that I booked my trip to attend the Fiji Frontliners conference, so I could be there to support and witness him receiving it.

“Our team is only small, but we support each other and encourage each other, all the time.”
Karryon caught up with Christos Niaros to talk about the emotion of the moment, the pride behind the win, and what keeps him inspired as a travel advisor.

My customers: I thank them from the bottom of my heart for their trust in my abilities.
The organisation I work for, along with my manager, are all huge assets. They help guide and challenge me to be better and to always keep learning.

How important is your local community to your success?
