QantasLink pours millions into regional WA with upgraded cabins and new jets

QantasLink will revamp its WA network fleet by early 2027, introducing Embraer E190s and upgrading 28 Airbus A320 and A319 aircraft with inflight Wi-Fi and all-new seats as part of a multi-million-dollar investment in resources sector charters and regional passenger connectivity.

QantasLink’s West Australian airline Network Aviation operates more than 600 flights per week to 25-plus destinations across regional WA, as well as Darwin, Newcastle, Hobart, Christmas Island and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands.

The first refurbished aircraft is expected to enter service in late 2026 with the full cabin and Wi-Fi upgrade program rolled out across the WA fleet by early 2027.

The initial three of 14 Embraer E190s on order will also arrive by the end of 2026, gradually replacing Network Aviation’s Fokker F100 fleet along with the addition of A320s from Jetstar Asia.

The fleet upgrades complement Qantas Group’s fleet renewal program, which includes orders for more than 200 new aircraft, Boeing 737 and Airbus A330 cabin upgrades and the addition of the first Airbus A220 aircraft in South Australia.

QantasLink CEO Mark Dal Pra said: “This multi-million-dollar investment reinforces our long-term commitment to serving the critical resources sector in Western Australia and connecting regional communities across the state.”

“Not only will it significantly enhance the travel experience for our customers, it will also help us improve reliability and efficiency across our WA network.
