5 direct flights a day: Singapore Airlines expands Sydney network with new airport link

Singapore Airlines will fly direct daily between Australia’s newest aviation hub, Western Sydney International Airport, and Singapore Changi Airport starting 23 November 2026, upping Sydney’s links to Singapore with SIA to five nonstop services per day.

Singapore Airlines will fly direct daily between Australia’s newest aviation hub, Western Sydney International Airport, and Singapore Changi Airport starting 23 November 2026, upping Sydney’s links to Singapore with SIA to five nonstop services per day.

After signing on in 2024 as the first international airline for Western Sydney International Airport, Singapore Airlines has been confirmed as the fourth major carrier to operate from the hub, joining Air New Zealand, Qantas and Jetstar.

Now available to book, SIA will operate the new Western Sydney International Airport (WSI) – Singapore Changi (SIN) route on its Airbus A350-900 aircraft with 303 seats across Business and Economy classes.

Subject to regulatory approval, the inaugural SQ201 flight will depart Singapore at 11:30am (local time) on 23 November 2026 and arrive at WSI at 10:20 (local time).

The SQ202 return flight is scheduled to take off from WSI at 11:55pm on 23 November and arrive in SIN at 5:05am on 24 November 2026.

Singapore Airlines currently flies to Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney (Kingsford Smith) and now Sydney (Western Sydney).

The new route will complement SIA’s existing four-times-daily service from Sydney Kingsford Smith International Airport and bring the Group’s network to eight destinations in Australia, adding Scoot’s three routes to Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.

Singapore Airlines Senior Vice President Marketing Planning Dai Haoyu said the addition of WSI to its Australian network reflects the Group’s firm commitment to a key market.

“Singapore Airlines’ services to Australia’s newest gateway at Western Sydney will deliver more choice and strengthen connectivity to this popular destination for our customers,” he said.

“Western Sydney’s late-night departure capacity will enable a seamless travel journey and connections through Singapore Changi Airport to more than 130 global destinations served by the SIA Group.”

With WSI due to open in October 2026, CEO Simon Hickey said: “Western Sydney International Airport is thrilled to be partnering with Singapore Airlines, bringing more of its Skytrax-certified, 5-star service to the people of Greater Sydney.”

“Our 24-hour capacity, coupled with Singapore Airlines’ extensive global connectivity, will open our city to the world in new and exciting ways.”

Federal Transport Minister Catherine King said the November commencement places Singapore Airlines among the first carriers to land at WSI, which will reach operational readiness for cargo in July and passengers in October 2026.

“Daily flights will connect Western Sydney globally, starting at the new Western Sydney International Airport and connecting to every corner of the world through Changi,” she said.

Singapore Airlines was the first international airline to commit to fly into Western Sydney International, and I’m really pleased tickets are on sale so people can start planning their next flight.”
