Intrepid Travel has launched a new Premium Family range, designed for families who want to explore the world together with more comfort, more inclusions and less time spent managing the details.
The eight new small-group trips span Costa Rica, Sri Lanka, India, Borneo, Vietnam, Morocco, Thailand and Egypt, pairing Intrepid’s Premium travel style with the immersive, child-friendly format of its Family range.
A Wakefield survey commissioned by Intrepid found 80 per cent of parents across Australia, the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom want their children to experience new cultures and destinations. It also found 70 per cent place greater value on holidays where planning, logistics and other stresses are handled for them.
Premium Family enters the mix
The new range is designed for small groups of three to five like-minded families and led by Intrepid’s most experienced local guides.
It builds on Intrepid’s existing Family range, which already spans more than 50 itineraries worldwide and recorded 19 per cent year-on-year growth in 2025.
Intrepid now offers 58 family tours across six continents and 30 countries, with trips available across four styles: Basix, Original, Comfort and Premium. Each style offers progressively more inclusions, elevated experiences and higher-standard accommodation.
The new Premium Family trips are available to book now and will depart from December 2026.
Where families can go
The first eight Premium Family itineraries include a seven-day Costa Rica Premium Family Tour, a nine-day Sri Lanka Premium Family Holiday, a 10-day Morocco Premium Family Holiday, an eight-day India Golden Triangle Premium Family Holiday, a nine-day Borneo Premium Family Holiday, an eight-day Egypt Premium Family Holiday, a nine-day Vietnam Premium Family Holiday and an 11-day Thailand Premium Family Holiday.
Highlights include a night in a Sahara desert camp on the Morocco itinerary, where families can have a traditional dinner, watch live Gnaoua music and stargaze under an uninterrupted sky.
On the Borneo Premium Family Holiday, families stay in an overwater villa, with kayaking, snorkelling, stand-up paddleboarding and a coral planting workshop among the inclusions.
The India Golden Triangle Premium Family Holiday includes a rickshaw ride through Keoladeo National Park and an open-roof 4WD safari at Jhalana Leopard Safari Park.
Other experiences across the range include wildlife volunteering at Proyecto Asis Wildlife Rescue Centre in Costa Rica, elephant spotting in Sri Lanka’s Minneriya National Park, a three-night Nile cruise in Egypt, exploring caves in Vietnam’s Phong Nha, and meeting rescued elephants in Chiang Mai.
