Bathe by Aluume, billed as Queenstown’s first centrally located hot pool experience, opens ahead of the winter ski season, giving Australian travellers a new way to unwind in the heart of New Zealand’s adventure capital.
Bathe by Aluume has opened on Queenstown’s Brecon Street, featuring six design-led urban hot pools, balancing natural materials and privacy – one communal pool and five private pools – overlooking trees, landscaped gardens and mountain views stretching towards Coronet Peak.
Designed as a contemporary interpretation of traditional hot springs, Bathe is pitched at both travellers seeking quiet restoration and groups wanting to socialise after a day on the slopes or out exploring.

It’s designed with the aim of feeling removed from the energy of downtown despite being only steps away. Bathe by Aluume is the latest venture as Queenstown redefines its luxury hospitality offering.
Communal soaks start from NZD$55 (around AUD$45) per person, while private pools are available from NZD$95 per session (about AUD$78).
Why it matters for Aussie ski trips

New Zealand is consistently among the top destinations for Australian travellers and Queenstown draws steady winter traffic for skiing and snow getaways.
Aluume Wellness Founder Tim McMahon said the venue fills a gap in Queenstown’s visitor offering.
“Queenstown has long been known as New Zealand’s adventure capital, but until now there hasn’t been a premium hot pool experience right in the centre of town,” McMahon said.

“We’re excited to welcome Australian visitors this winter with an experience that allows them to step off the slopes, out of the restaurants or away from the adventure activities and into a space designed purely for relaxation and recovery.
“Australians already have a strong connection with Queenstown and we know wellness is becoming a bigger part of how people travel,” McMahon said.

“Bathe by Aluume gives visitors another reason to extend their stay, particularly during winter when there is nothing better than sinking into warm water while surrounded by alpine scenery.”
KARRYON UNPACKS: Wellness is increasingly part of the snow holiday equation and a central après-ski soak in design-led magnesium hot pools gives travel advisors an easy luxury add-on to a Queenstown winter package with no transfer or out-of-town drive required.
