Hyatt has opened beachfront wellness resort The Barai Hua Hin, marking the debut of its Unbound Collection in Thailand.
The first Thailand address for The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, The Barai Hua Hin first opened twenty years ago as a spa, and has now been expanded into a boutique resort.
There are now 98 guest rooms and suites, including two-bedroom penthouses, each with open living spaces, expansive private balconies, deep soaking tubs and rainforest showers.
Higher-category suites add butler service, expansive terraces, in-suite rituals and daily massage inclusions.

Designed by Lek Mathar Bunnag around the elemental forces of water, fire, earth and air, the property uses shaded corridors, sculptural forms and tranquil courtyards, alongside two pools: the lagoon-like Forest Pool at the resort’s heart and an oceanfront Beach Pool overlooking the Gulf of Thailand.
The Barai Spa, named for the ancient barays or reservoirs that once sustained daily life, includes a two-storey Wellness Hub with a 24-hour fitness studio, yoga studio, holistic zone and wellness shop.
Programs on offer include women’s health, sleep recovery, back care, longevity, emotional wellbeing and heart health.

When it’s time to dine, there are two venues: White Cottage, a restored seaside cottage focused on fresh seafood and plant-forward dishes, and McFarland House, a restored 19th-century beachfront pavilion serving Modern European cuisine and one of Hua Hin’s celebrated Sunday brunches.
General manager Marco Avitabile says every stay is designed to unfold at the guest’s own rhythm.
“Our philosophy is rooted in Sanook, the belief that joy, ease and delight should be part of life’s most meaningful moments.
“Whether guests come for deep rest, movement, spa rituals, culinary discovery or time by the sea, we invite them to experience renewal in a way that feels personal, memorable and entirely their own.”

KARRYON UNPACKS: Hyatt is planting its Unbound Collection flag in Thailand on the back of a 20-year wellness pedigree rather than a ground-up build, a smart bet on a category Australian travellers are spending up on. For advisors, it adds a credentialed, design-led wellness option in an established Gulf of Thailand destination that pairs neatly with Bangkok stopovers.
