Virgin Australia will ramp up its Sydney-Doha capacity this summer, restoring a second daily service operated by Qatar Airways in a move that signals growing confidence in travel to and through the Middle East.

The extra service will operate from 7 December 2026 to 28 March 2027 under flight numbers VA3/4, giving travellers three daily Sydney-Doha options when combined with Qatar Airways’ existing flights.

The boost will bring Virgin Australia’s Doha schedule back to 28 weekly flights, with Brisbane and Perth services also returning in early December.

The airline will operate two daily Sydney flights, daily Melbourne services, four weekly Perth flights and three weekly Brisbane flights during the period.

The changes come as Virgin Australia responds to customer demand and expands access to Qatar Airways’ wider network, connecting Aussies with more than 160 destinations across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

For travel advisors, the added capacity provides more options to package long-haul itineraries, particularly as airlines continue rebuilding confidence in Gulf connections.
